The bluebonnet is the flower of Texas, and a really big deal in April. Such a big deal that traffic gets horrendous from site-seers. Cleverly, we picked a small, out-of-the-way route to see the flowers. So did 13,000 bicyclists in a charity race for multiple sclerosis. We saw a lot of black shiny shorts.

Eventually we escaped the race and found the bluebonnet...



...and other wildflowers. The air smelled like heaven.


It even smelled nice around the cows.
